The project
Géisskan turns Luxembourg’s municipal park into a space for collective creativity. Over several weeks, the park becomes a place to write, listen, perform, and explore urban nature through art. The project begins with an open poetry lab inviting everyone—residents, students, and passers-by—to create poems, stories, and sound recordings inspired by the park. These public workshops offer a space to reflect on the park and its role in urban life, past and future.
All texts and recordings feed into performances and installations across the park in June 2025. Through QR codes, visitors can access the full collection in their own time and discover how others see and feel the same green space. A poetry slam brings live word battles to the grass, with performers taking on bees, trees, ants and climate justice. The journey culminates in a multidisciplinary open-air show combining poetry, sound art, and dance—a celebration of the voices, rhythms and textures of the park. Géisskan invites you to experience the municipal park differently: as a place of exchange, reflection, and poetic expression.
De Projet
D’ Géisskan verwandelt d’Stater Kinnekswiss an e Raum fir kollektiv Kreativitéit. De Park gëtt iwwer e puer Wochen zu enger Plaz fir ze schreiwen, no ze lauschteren, performen an déi urban Natur duerch Konscht ze entdecken. De Projet fänkt mat engem oppene Poesielabor un, dee jiddereen – Awunner, Schüler a Spadséiergänger – invitéiert, Gedichter, Geschichten a Kläng inspiréiert vum Park ze schafen. Dës ëffentlech Ateliere bidden e Raum fir iwwer de Park an seng Roll am urbane Liewen nozedenken - sieft dat fréier oder hautdesdaags.
All Texter an Opname fléissen a Performancen an Installatiounen am Park am Juni 2025 an. Iwwer QR-Codë kënne Visiteuren déi ganz Sammlung an hirem eegene Rhythmus entdecken a gesinn, wéi anerer dee selwechte grénge Raum erliewen a spieren. E Poetry Slam bréngt lieweg Wierderkämpf op d’Wiss, wou d’Performer sech mat Béien, Beem, Seechomessen an dem Klima-Gerechtegkeet ausernee setzen.
D’Rees endegt an enger multidisziplinärer Open-Air-Virstellung, wou Poesie, Klangkonscht a Danz sech vereenen – eng Feier vun de Stëmmen, Rhythmen a Strukture vum Park.
Géisskan invitéiert Iech, de Stadpark op eng aner Aart a Weis z’erliewen: als Plaz vum Austausch, vun der Reflexioun a vun der poetescher Ausdrocksform.

14—30 May: “Schreif mat!” Géisskan’s Pop-Up Poetry Lab
Location: Géisskan’s Pop-Up Tent at Kinnekswiss
Which role does the city’s largest park play for the urban society? Who lives here, what grows and who mows? The Géisskan collective sets up its homebase at Kinnekswiss in Luxembourg-City. For 18 days, everyone is invited to co-create a vast collection of poetry, stories as well as voice and sound recordings. In daily workshops, residents, school students and passers-by learn how to write and perform poetry.
Join us for the open sessions! No registration needed.
All poems, stories and recordings focus on the park itself, its role in society and in history and future. All products of these workshops will be merged into a large performance and made accessible via QR codes in June.

Step into sound! This interdisciplinary workshop invites you to dive into the world of field recording and explore the hidden music of everyday places. Learn how to use simple audio tools to capture the textures of your surroundings – rustling leaves, distant birdsong, or city hums. Field recording has long shaped films and electro-acoustic music by creating realistic or impressionistic soundscapes. Now it’s your turn to use it as a creative spark!
Sam Erpelding (Luxembourg) is a sound engineer, artist, and eco-acoustician. Under the name “Dankwart,” he has released his own compositions since 2014. Since 2018, his sound art has been featured at venues and festivals such as Casino Luxembourg, Ars Electronica, and the Ecoacoustic Congress in Madrid.

Doch ob Mauerblümchen, Kleeblatt oder Heideröslein, am Ende gilt: „Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose.“ – oder?
Schreib mit Wehwalt Koslovsky rund ums Thema Botanik in einer vielsilbig-fetzigen Photosyntheseparty auf der Kinnekswiss und pflanz‘ uns deine Perspektive in die Hirnwurzeln! Just be bunt and be open!

29 June, 16:30h: Leaves, Lines & Leaping Moves – Poetry meets contemporary dance
Location: LUGA's Culture Hub at Villa Vauban
Get ready for an open-air experience blending live poetry reading and sound art with contemporary dance. Live readings blend with field recordings and beats, while dancers move between words and rhythms, giving the park’s voices a new physical form.
Choreographer Nora Noush joins the Géisskan collective to merge live poetry with sound art and movement. Rooted in hip hop and contemporary dance, Nora transforms words, rhythms, and silences into powerful gestures. The choreography is inspired by texts and recordings from the Pop-Up Poetry Lab, thus brings the voice of Kinnekswiss to the stage at the Culture Hub. Join us for a boundary-crossing performance, converting the park into poetry, music and movement.
